Scope:

This project consisted of renovating an approximately 10,000 square foot existing pre-engineered metal building including interior plywood wall panels, electrical service, general lighting, general HVAC, water service, sanitary service, toilet facilities, and an accessible ramp at the front entrance. The work included basic construction of the interior finish of exterior walls using painted ½-inch plywood panels screw attached to existing z-girts with panels being 8-feet high; interior wall and ceiling systems using gypsum wallboard on steel stud walls; and plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems in support of building. This building was used for training physically and mentally challenged employees for Walgreens New Distribution Facility, a cooperative project with SC Vocational Rehabilitation, Anderson County, and Walgreens. Walgreens' Anderson facility and their commitment to employ 25 percent of their workforce from the mentally and physically challenged population in Upstate, SC have been featured in several national news features including The Today Show.
