Facility Assessment - Anderson, SC
Project:
Anderson County Facility Assessment
Client:
Anderson County
Anderson, South Carolina
Scope:
The Facility Assessment Report deals with the old McCants Junior High School buildings, which were acquired by Anderson County. The County’s goal is a multi-phase upgrade and renovation of the 1935 facility into a new Community and Cultural Center. The preliminary plan provides space for several programs and functions such as Meals on Wheels, Greater Anderson Music and Art Consortium (GAMAC), Tri-County Technical College, Anderson Area Medical Center, conference rooms, and a community gymnasium. It is the primary concern of the Facility Assessment Report to evaluate the planned program for the existing buildings with respect to the current Building Code, Americans with Disabilities Act and general public safety. Secondary issues of the report include recommendations for renovations with functional spatial relations, circulation patterns, preliminary opinion of cost, project phasing plan, and a preliminary construction schedule.
