SCOPE:

The Rocky River Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) serves the City of Anderson, Anderson County, and Homeland Park Water and Sewer District. The existing WWTP utilizes a fixed film biological treatment process and has a rated capacity of 6.1 MGD. Engineering services have included planning, permitting and preliminary design to expand the rated capacity of the Rocky River WWTP from 6.1 MGD to 9.5 MGD. The project involves the following major improvements:

• Replacement of the existing influent bar screens.
• Replacement of the existing grit removal system.
• The addition of a third 3.4 MGD treatment train.
• The addition of a 9.5 MGD tertiary filtration system.
• Replacement of the existing chlorination and sulfur dioxide feed equipment.
• The addition of a chlorine contact tank.
• SCADA system upgrade.
• Associated site work, plant piping and electrical additions.
• Upgrades or replacement of existing process equipment and plant painting.
