| SCOPE: |
Performed a full-scale filtration pilot study at the Don L. Moore WTP to determine if the plant can be high rated beyond the regulated filtration rate of 4 gpm/ft2. SCDHEC requires full-scale testing to grant the higher filtration rate. Some of the matters addressed included; engineering evaluation of the existing facilities, hydraulic analysis of proposed changes and their effects on the process, description of pilot and control filters, methodology for required testing, and expected goals required for a successful study. The original capacity of the WTP was 12 MGD and high rating would increase the capacity to 18 MGD.
