| Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission provides water to residences and businesses located in the unincorporated areas of Laurens County. Capital Planning needs has dictated the Commission have a reliable tool by which to predict system impacts from future development and analyze line extensions on a case by case basis. Safe Drinking Water Act Stage 2 Disinfection By-Product Rule compliance has also driven the need for a reliable computerized hydraulic model of the water system network that can analyze pressure, flow, water age and other water quality parameters in an extended period mode. Using data from the Commission’s existing AutoCad map and aerial photography a geospatially accurate hydraulic model of the pipe network was constructed and calibrated to Stage 2 requirements. The model was originally constructed using Infowater, developed by MWH Soft as a software extension to ESRI ArcMap |
