LCF Water System Hydraulic Model - Chesnee, SC

Project:

Water System Hydraulic Model

Client:

Liberty-Chesnee-Fingerville Water District
Chesnee, South Carolina

Scope:

Liberty-Chesnee-Fingerville Water District provides water to residences and businesses located in northeast Spartanburg County. Increasing development in this area has dictated the need for the Water District to have a reliable tool by which to predict system impacts for future development and analyze line extensions on a case by case basis. Safe Drinking Water Act Stage 2 Disinfection By-Product Rule compliance has also driven the need for a reliable computerized hydraulic model of the water system network that can analyze pressure, flow, water age and other water quality parameters in an extended period mode. Using data from the Water District’s existing Geographical Information System (GIS), a geospatially accurate hydraulic model of the pipe network was constructed and calibrated to Stage 2 requirements. The model was originally constructed using H2OMap developed by MWH Soft and later converted to Infowater, also developed by MWH Soft as a software extension to ESRI ArcMap.
