Professional History

Design South Professionals, Inc. is a regional and national award winning employee owned and operated firm located in Anderson, South Carolina at One Linwa Boulevard.  Design South Professionals, Inc. was incorporated in 1989; however, our office and professional staff, under two different parent companies, have been providing consulting services in engineering, planning, architecture and telecommunications throughout South Carolina and Northeast Georgia since 1950.  From 1950 until 1974, we operated under the name of Robinson Engineering Service.  After the death of Mr. D. Hunter Robinson, our Anderson office was acquired by Russell & Axon, Inc. under whose corporate banner we operated through September 1989.  On October 1, 1989, the Anderson employees formed Design South Professionals, Inc. with a staff of 22 people.

We have established an outstanding record of continuing growth, of expansion of services offered, and of providing quality services to our clients.  The growth and reputation of the firm are the direct outcome of individual efforts and close cooperation by all of our associates.  Our professional staff includes 9 professional engineers, 1 registered architect. The experience of our design professionals ranges from 6 years to 29 years with an average of over 20 years.

Design South offers a broad range of professional engineering and architectural services including preliminary investigations, reports, studies, final design drawings and specifications, bidding, negotiating and construction administration services.
